URGENT: Stop this toxic lead mine wiping out koala habitat!

The next few weeks are critical if we’re to stop a massive toxic lead mine being built right in the heart of Lue, near beautiful Mudgee, in a wine and tourism hotspot within just 2km of the local Lue school.

If this mine goes ahead it will be an environmental disaster and destroy a thriving regional community..

Only federal Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek has the power to stop it.

Bowdens lead mine and silver mine will clear more than 300 hectares of critically endangered habitat for some of our most precious threatened wildlife including endangered Koalas, Spotted-tailed Quolls and critically endangered Regent Honeyeaters and Swift Parrots.

Because of the serious risks this mine poses to these federally listed threatened species it needs to be given final approval by the federal Minister for the Environment.

Just in the last month, there have been 15 koalas sighted in the area. Time is running out. Please take action now and tell Tanya Plibersek to reject this toxic lead mine and protect this vital habitat for our threatened wildlife.
