RIGHTS OF NATURE: COUCH CHAT WITH DR MICHELLE MALONEY
We’ve had environmental laws for more than four decades yet our rivers and wetlands are drying up, our oceans are being pillaged, our forests are still being bulldozed for woodchips and our precious native animals like the koala are at the brink of extinction.
We need a seismic shift in our approach to nature if we’re going to save the planet.
That’s what the Rights of Nature movement is all about.
In this short 45 min free webinar, Dr Michelle Maloney from the Australian Earth Laws Alliance will take us through the fundamentals of Rights for Nature and which countries have already introduced Rights for Nature laws. Dr Maloney will also discuss her soon-to-be-released Report into the Citizen’s Inquiry Into the Health of the Darling River and Menindee Lakes and the recent consultation process undertaken with communities living along the Baarka-Darling River.
