RETHINK REFORM OUR DRUG LAWS - LAUNCH

We're launching the Greens' drug law reform campaign in the NSW parliament and we want you to be a part of it.

Prohibition hasn’t worked. The war on drugs has been an abject failure including the NSW Government’s zero-tolerance heavy-handed police approach such as the use of strip searches and sniffer dogs. People’s lives are being ruined because their drug of choice is illegal and tragically, lives are being lost because people can’t get treatment when they need it.

It's time to Rethink how we treat people who use drugs

Millions of Australians have used illegal drugs and the majority do so with little harm to themselves or others. Yet almost 36,000 people in NSW are convicted each year for possessing small amounts of drugs including cannabis, ecstasy and cocaine. Meanwhile, people who need help the most are punished instead of being able to access the support services they need.

It’s time to Reform our drug laws

Join Cate Faehrmann MP, health professionals and drug law reform campaigners to launch a big, bold campaign to reform NSW’s drug laws. Our drug laws must be about reducing harm and acknowledging and accepting the reality of drug use in our society.

I hope you can join us as we begin our journey to Rethink Reform.
