WASTE & THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY

NSW alone remains as the only state in Australia that doesn’t have a plan to phase out plastic bags, let alone a plan for a truly circular economy that limits waste and all single use items.

With the NSW Government flirting with plans to instead burn waste for energy in toxic incinerators. This produces dirty pollutants and fails to tackle the systemic failure of our economy to adequately reduce, reuse and recycle. Cate is working with local communities to oppose these toxic developments and instead work towards a truly circular economy by phasing out single-use plastics and developing environmentally friendly alternatives as well as products that can be reused instead of disposed of.
