ACTIVE TRANSPORT
The Greens’ newly established Active Transport portfolio is a direct response to the government’s neglect of cycleways and footpaths in NSW. While cycling rates have decreased, injuries have skyrocketed, and the NSW government currently spends just 1% of its annual transport budget on active transport such as cycling and pedestrian infrastructure, compared to the UN recommended 20%.
Cate’s fighting for safe, connected and integrated active transport infrastructure in our cities and regions and for cycling infrastructure to be considered mandatory in all new road and other transport projects.
